Employment Opportunity: Part-Time Library Assistant (2 positions)
The George Culver Community Library is immediately hiring two Library Assistants! We are a forward-thinking library with a community mindset, dedicated to providing our patrons with diverse resources, technology assistance, and top-notch traditional library services. The Library Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patrons and visitors, connecting them with library materials, programs, and services. If you are passionate about the library, detail-oriented, and enjoy helping people, this is the job for you!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Checking materials in and out, processing materials, shelving library materials, assisting library patrons with technology and library resources, and other duties as assigned.
Hours and Salary:
The two open positions have the following schedules:
A. Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 8:00am - 12:00pm, and 1-2 Saturdays per month from 8:30am - 2:00pm.
B. Monday & Thursday from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, and every other Saturday from 8:30am - 2:00pm.
Both positions have a possibility for additional hours as available. Starting salary for Library Assistants is $15.00/hour. These positions do not qualify for benefits.
Minimum qualifications:
Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong work ethic, knowledge of computers and the internet, and the ability to lift and push up to 20 lbs. Completion of at least two years of High School required. Previous customer service experience preferred.
