Immediate opening for a Library Assistant who loves working with the public. The Library Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patrons and visitors, connecting them with library materials, programs, and services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, checking materials in and out, processing and shelving library materials, assisting library patrons on the computer, and other duties as assigned.
Availability: 16-18 hours per week to include Wednesday evenings (4-8 p.m.), Fridays 3-5:30 p.m., and one Saturday per month (8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
Minimum qualifications: Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of computers and the internet, and the ability to lift and push up to 40 lbs. Salary and benefits: This is a part-time position with a starting wage of $12.36/hour, increasing to $12.98 on January 1 pending budget approval. This position does not qualify for benefits.
