Shell Week Apr. 24-28

We’re celebrating shells April 24-28!

Come for a shell-themed storytime on Monday, April 24 or Wednesday, April 26 at 10am.

Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30pm we’re hosting conservation biologist Lisie Kitchel. She’ll be teaching about Wisconsin’s Native Mussels, Our Freshwater Treasures.

Did you know that mussels are one of the most endangered groups of animals, and that 24 of Wisconsin’s 50 species are endangered, threatened or of special concern? Learn all about this underappreciated animal and efforts to restore populations right here in our backyard. This lecture is sponsored by the Rooted in Conservation Fund.

Thursday, April 27 at 6pm is our Pajama Party Movie Night! We’ll be screening Marcel the Shell with Shoes on.

Put on your comfiest pajamas, grab your blanket and pillow and head on down to the library to get cozy and enjoy the movie. Free, freshly-popped popcorn available! Feel free to bring a beverage and/or snacks of your own. The movie is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 29 minutes.
