Community Read Discussion

October 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us this October for the Sauk Prairie Social Justice and Equity Initiative’s second annual community read!

Free copies of Solito, Solita edited by Steven Mayers and Jonathan Freedman will be available at the George Culver Community Library (in Sauk City) and the Ruth Culver Community Library (in Prairie du Sac) starting September 1, while supplies last. The ebook can also be downloaded from hoopla with your George Culver Community Library card.

Join us for guest speakers followed by an opportunity to discuss this year’s book, which includes stories of young refugees fleeing Central America and traveling for hundreds of miles to seek safety and protection in the United States. The discussion at the George Culver Community Library will be on Tuesday, October 11 at 1 p.m.

Discussions will also be held at the Ruth Culver Community Library on Monday, October 17 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, October 20 at 6 p.m.

Sponsored by Haymarket Press, Voice of Witness, Free Congregation of Sauk County, Sauk Prairie Optimists, the Sauk Prairie Social Justice and Equity Initiative, George Culver Community Library, Ruth Culver Community Library, and the Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce.

No registration is required.
